VSA has a long and very fine heritage as an agency, having been created by the theatrical agent and impresario Vincent Shaw in the 1950s.
Since then the agency has maintained its position as a leading management looking after many successful artists, as well as giving industry leaders such as Bill Kenwright an opportunity to get started in the industry.
Andy Charles took over the agency in 2002, after working alongside Vincent Shaw as his head agent, and today runs VSA with fellow agent and business partner Tod Weller.
Andy trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and went on to have a very successful career as an actor, whilst Tod trained as a photographer and worked in TV, advertising and film production. Their combined experience of the industry from both sides of the fence ensures an indepth understanding of the demands of an ever changing business, as well as an empathy and insight into the daily life of an artist.
Beccy Kilgarriff joined us in 2020 as an Associate Agent, having worked as an assistant for many years. She originally trained as an actor, performing in the West End, on tour and in audio, alongside spells in production and casting. She is developing her own client list and continues to work alongside Andy & Tod.
Our continued success depends on our relationships with our clients and our relationships with casting professionals – relationships we nurture and never take for granted; friendly, professional and very personal management is paramount in all that we do.
